We are excited to announce the development of three new cutting-edge units at Port Jérôme, France, covering the full production cycle: a fermentation plant transforming glucose into lactic acid, a polymerization unit producing PLA, and a molecular recycling facility dedicated to giving new life to PLA. These state-of-the-art facilities will have a production capacity of 75,000 tons of PLA per year, supported by a €500 million investment.
As we expand our team in Brussels, we’re looking for visionary professionals to lead and drive this ambitious project.

Job Details
Function
You will be actively involved in the design, development, procurement, and supervision of the installation of industrial equipment such as pumps, tanks, and other systems commonly used in the chemical industry. Your role will ensure that all installations comply with safety standards, are cost-effective, and leverage cutting-edge technologies that support Futerro’s innovative production processes and business activities.
Main tasks :
- Work closely with the engineering team, customers and partners to ensure all requirements are met.
- Participate in management of the entire industrial chemical machinery design and building processes. This includes overseeing the pre-project, design, workshop construction and various phases of equipment acceptance
- Manage relationships with local and international suppliers, as well as customers and partners
- Help manage contracts with local and international suppliers
- Monitor and control construction and transportation costs to ensure that projects remain within budget
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends
Profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping, or Welding
- Proven experience in the construction of industrial machinery and process equipment
- Professional experience collaborating with manufacturing workshops, third-party suppliers, and internal/external engineering teams
- Expertise in working with carbon, stainless, and duplex steels for the fabrication of chemical equipment, both with and without pressure
- Strong knowledge of building codes, piping, and welding standards
- Experience in import-export across different continents is a plus
- Experience in importing equipment in Europe (CE marking, Machinery directive 2006/42EC , … )
- Ability to work independently within a multicultural team environment
- Critical thinker with a rigorous and detail-oriented approach
- Adaptable to diverse working environments and challenges
- Willingness to travel abroad (France, China) for specific short assignments
